Coated Urea Produced by Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose
Coated Urea Produced by Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose
Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose can be used as the raw material of Coated Urea production, this is one of expanded usages of Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose.
Urea is resolved by urea enzymes into Ammonia and Carbon Dioxide in rumen. This resolving process is very fast, the concentration of NH3 increases quickly in rumen, the increasing of blood ammonia concentration will make cattle and sheep ammonia poisoning, so the resolving speed of Urea should be controlled.
There are many ways of controlling Urea resolving speed, for example, cattle and sheep are prohibited drinking within half an hour after feeding Urea. Anyway, it is not an ideal way. With the development Coated Urea appears. Coated Urea is feedstuff made after Urea is processed. Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose is used for the raw material of Coated Urea, the proportion by weight of Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose and Coated Urea are as follows: Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose : Coated Urea= 2.5:97.5 or 15:85 or 35:65. Though testing, Coated Urea produced by Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose is immersed into warm water of 39℃, equal with the temperature in the rumen, only 50% is dissolved after two hours. But Urea granules feedstuff without CMC coating can be totally dissolved after only 9 minutes.
